The Major League Baseball (MLB) Boston Red Sox have fired President of Baseball Operations Haim Bloom, effective immediately. 먹튀검증
MLB.com reported on Friday that the Red Sox announced Bloom’s dismissal before a doubleheader against the New York Yankees.
The team cited “poor performance” as the primary reason for Bloom’s midseason departure.
Since Bloom’s arrival in 2019, the Red Sox have only made the postseason once in the last three seasons. In 2020 and 2022, the Red Sox finished at the bottom of the American League East, embarrassing the franchise.
This season has been no different. As of May 15, the team is 74-73 on the season and in fourth place in the division. They are also far behind the leaders in the wild card race, making fall baseball a long shot.
“The decision to dismiss was not made lightly,” Boston CEO Sam Kennedy said in a statement, “We all know where the team stands. The reality is that our fans feel the pain as deeply as we do. They deserve to have a competitive team that consistently makes the postseason and wins,” he said, adding that the decision was made to make changes.
The organization said longtime Boston general manager Brian O’Halloran has taken on a new senior role within baseball operations.
“Our goal is to be World Series champions,” Kennedy said. We’re here to win the World Series. We’re not going to waste our opportunity while we’re here,” he said, emphasizing that he will work to get the team back on track.
