Professional basketball Goyang Carrot ace Jeon Seong-hyun decided to focus on recovery at the end of the regular season after a problem was discovered with the body’s balance organ.
Carrot coach Kim Seung-gi met with reporters ahead of the away game against Seoul SK in the 2022-2023 SKT Adot Professional Basketball regular league held at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul on the 22nd and informed them of Jeon Seong-hyun’s condition.
Director Kim said, “I didn’t know if Jeon Seong-hyun was in a bad ‘cochlear tube’,” he said.
He continued, “I think I talked to (the team) recently after hiding and running. I need to get an accurate checkup, but I think I’ll have to rest for a few days.”
The cochlea mentioned by director Kim is a body organ responsible for hearing. It is connected to the vestibular organ, which is responsible for the ‘sense of balance’, such as feeling the body’s position and rotation inside the ear.
‘Sense of balance’ is very important for Jeon Seong-hyeon, who is the best shooter in professional basketball and has to keep balance in the air and throw a shot. A slight loss of sensation can cause the shot to miss.
