Prism swept past Masterwok for a second round sweep.
Prism defeated Masterwook in the second game of the second round of the 2023 MG Saemaul Money Insurance ONE HOOP Basketball League at the Myungfilm Art Center in Gyeonggi on Saturday, June 3 at 8 p.m. to win their second straight game.
The MVP of the game was guard Lee Jae-joon (27, 185 cm, Skill Trainer). He supported his main gun, Jung Yeon-woo, in the win.
When asked about the win, Lee said, “We finished last in the first round. I was upset. We blamed ourselves and reflected a lot. I think the fact that we were united and didn’t blame each other led to a good result,” he said.
“Maybe it was the fact that we hit rock bottom in the first round. It was medicine. I think it gave us a chance to unite. In the first round, the other team seemed to be in sync for a long time, and it was our first time. We were not in sync. Our screens and defense talk was very weak. In our meetings, we talked about 90% of the defense. It’s not perfect yet, but I think it’s around 70%,” he said about the reason for the winning streak.
Lee is an overseas student. He lived in the United States for 13 years before returning to Korea in 2015. He immigrated to the United States as a child. Of course, he didn’t play basketball. He did participate in many competitions in the United States, which has a different elite culture. He was a young man who loved basketball.
Back in Korea, Lee said he’s currently doing skills training classes, and he also plays 3×3 for Hansol Ready Mixed Concrete.
“As a guard, I like playmaking, and I need to help (Jung) a lot. I prefer to be a point guard rather than a scorer.”
He also talked about his preparation for the third round, saying, “We lost a lot to Black Label in the first round. In the third round, I plan to grit my teeth and play defense.” “The one-hop format was unfamiliar to me in the first round. Now that I’ve played it, there are a lot of rules in our favor. There are flashy players. If we get used to it and use the rules well, I think we will be a shining team. I think it’s the most colorful stage in Korea outside of the KBL. It means a lot.” 스포츠토토
Finally, Lee said, “Basketball is a content that has helped me a lot in my life. It’s like a medium that allowed me to overcome racism in the United States when I was young. Being recognized helped me raise my self-esteem. Now I have disciples in basketball. “If you just tell them, you’re nagging them. You have to show them,” he concluded.
