Simeon made it 2-1 in the bottom of the second inning, pulling a first-pitch sinker from St. Louis starter Adam Wainwright for an RBI single to left field. It was his 24th consecutive game with a hit. Simeon has added a hit in every game since May 11 against the Seattle Mariners, closing in on the franchise record of 28 consecutive games set by Gabe Kapler in 2000. In the bottom of the sixth inning, he delivered his second hit of the game for his 21st multi-hit game of the season.

Simeon is currently the hottest hitter in the big leagues. In 59 games this season, he is batting .306 (245-for-75) with nine home runs and 48 RBIs. His on-base percentage (0.375) and slugging percentage (0.506) combine for an OPS of 0.881. In his last 15 games, he’s batting .348 and slugging .606. Narrowing it down to seven games, both his batting average (0.367) and on-base percentage (0.633) are higher.

Simeon is an 11-year veteran of the big leagues. In 2021 with the Toronto Blue Jays, he hit 45 home runs and 102 RBIs as the “Ryu Hyun-jin Helper,” winning both the Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards as the American League’s second baseman. His batting average dropped to .248 last year, his first season with Texas, but he has regained his accuracy this year. For his career, Simeon is batting .257 with 195 home runs and 613 RBIs.
